Per included factory research rifle shipped April 18, 1896 with a 26" octagon barrel chambered in .38-55 and pistol grip stock. Rifle sports a blue octagon barrel with Lyman hunting front sight and sporting rear. Case hardened receiver also mounted with a folding aperture tang sight. Diamond checkered walnut forend with blued steel nose cap. Matching checkered walnut pistol grip stock with checkered hard rubber Marlin shotgun butt plate. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel retains the vast majority of its factory blue with some mild high edge silvering, cleaned oxidation spots, and other scattered marks. Magazine tube blue has largely faded to brown patina. Nose cap retains the majority of its polished blue with areas of loss. Receiver likewise displays generous faded case colors, some areas fading to patina. Stocks have heavier impressions throughout but no major sign of distress. Fine butt plate. Strong bore with frost in the grooves. Fine mechanics.
