3rd model rifle manufactured in 1887. Fitted with a desirable 28" extra length blued octagon barrel with full length magazine tube, Beech front sight, and sporting rear. Polish blued frame with case hardened lever and hammer. Standard plain walnut forend with blued steel nose cap and straight grip stock with tool trap crescent rifle buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel retains the vast majority of its factory blue with high edge wear. Magazine tube has largely drifted to a brown patina, blue retained in the protected areas. Receiver retains the vast majority of its polished finish with areas of thinning and surface scratching. Approximately 60% nitre blue on loading gate. Lever and hammer display faint case colors fading to patina. Elevator exhibits an attractive warm golden patina. Wood has a pleasant age darkened appearance with scattered impressions. Very good, strong and bright bore. Crisp mechanics. A great '73.
