2.5" Chamber. Full choke. LOP 13 3/4". The Model 1882 Spencer was America's first slide action shotgun The top of barrel has the Spencer 1882 legend stamp. By 1890 the Spencer Sporting Arms Company was indebted to Pratt & Whitney for machinery costs and behind in payments. Bannerman bought the debt and foreclosed on Spencer but continued manufacture of this shotgun. The left side of frame has the Bannerman Model 1890 legend. The biggest departure on the Model 1890 is the short gutta percha checkered forearm. Features a checkered round knob walnut butt stock with a gutta percha butt plate. This is a solid frame slide action, tube fed. CONDITION. Very good. Metal is a smooth homogenous patina with some flashes of blue. Forearm is intact with no cracks. Stock is excellent with usual scattered impressions and small dings, a minute chip at upper tang and a small chip at toe of butt plate. Action works fine. Bore is clean with some light scoring. This is a very clean example of a fairly scarce shotgun.
