Built on the square butt N-frame, 5-screw, pinned barrel. Made for the .45 auto rim or use with half moon clips. Butt is stamped US ARMY MODEL 1917. UNITED STATES PROPERTY stamped under the barrel. Left side of frame stamped with Ordnance bomb and acceptance eagle head S9. Eagle head S24 stamp on back of cylinder and an S2 eagle under barrel. Matching serial number on butt, back of cylinder and under barrel. Assembly number 99832 with eagle head S2 inside crane. Smooth two piece walnut grips with lanyard ring. Brushed blue finish with case color hammer & trigger. Two line barrel address with caliber stamp on left side. CONDITION Fine. Frame retains approximately 40% blue with balance patina. Cylinder shows 70% blue with high edge wear. Barrel blue is thinning at muzzle. Grips are scraped at base on both panels. Action is smooth. Bore is bright. End of barrel has been trimmed 1/4".
