This Napoleonic pistol features a round barrel with crown stamped on top of breech and Tower proofs on left side. Iron swivel ramrod mounted to bottom of barrel, towards muzzle. Flat lockplate with beveled edges and sprig of engraving at tail, tail marked "TOWER" and center stamped with large crown over "GR" among with crown and broad arrow mark below pan, denoting government ownership. Standard brass New Land Pattern mounts. Partially figured walnut semi-full stock with "GR/1800" dated storekeeper's stamp on wrist along with later broad arrow over "BO" inspector stamp "TB" behind sideplate. Relief apron carved around barrel tang. CONDITION: Very good overall. barrel retains. a grey patina, some minor pitting around breech. Lock retains a grey patina, is in its original flintlock configuration and functions well. Markings excellent. Brass retains a pleasing mustard patina. Stock very good with clear stamps and some minor scattered marks from use. A very nice example.
