Beautiful lustrous blue finish Harrington and Richardson Reising Model 50 machine gun with 28 fin barrel and compensator. Five original 20-round lustrous blue finish magazines, green canvas magazine pouch, 1942 dated USMC manual, two empty brown cardboard ammunition boxes, and corrugated magazine housing are included in accompanying original trunk hard case. This commercial finished Reising is about as attractive as these ever get. This was not a World War II combat gun, although the Model 50 was fielded in limited numbers to the Marine Corps during WWII. This gun has a brass plate affixed to the underside of the pistol grips which reads: “8266 / PROPERTY / OF / M.B.P.D. / NO. 7”. So this was a Miami Beach police gun. Firing from a closed bolt gave an advantage to the firer over the Thompson, which fires from an open bolt. Electronic NFA Registry indicates “HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent original lustrous blue finish on the gun and magazines. The spare corrugated magazine housing is gray finished. Wood is extremely attractive with a rich brown color, unsanded with light handling marks. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. Original trunk case is extremely fine with black felt lining and serviceable original leather carrying handle. This gun presents exceptionally well. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. JWK 2024-09-029.
