Probably circa 1950s, given how erratic Model 21 serial numbers are. Barrel (A), 30", with classic hybrid dovetailed chopper lumps, mid and fore beads on a concave, matted, tapering rib, with Model 21 legends on left side of left tube. Action flats with serial numbers, various small proofs, Full & Full choke designations, Winchester Proof Steel markings, and a drain hole plugged with solder. Barrel set (B), 26", with hybrid lumps, steel mid bead and ivory forebead on matted, concave, tapered rib. Barrel flats for (B) with serial number, Winchester proof, "WS-1" and "WS-2" choke designations on tubes, and "Winchester Proof Steel designation". Drain hole plugged with solder. Beavertail forearm with point pattern checkering and a roller release. Interior iron with matching serial number. Plain blued boxlock action with Winchester information on action flats, encircled "1" and "2", and Winchester proof. Single selective trigger, with "DUCK" marking ahead of bottom action screw. Feather crotch walnut stock with a slight Monte Carlo comb, pistol grip with point pattern checkering about the wrist. Horn pistol grip cap, and Winchester red rubber recoil pad. With a Cody quick search indicating that the gun was built as a 12 gauge Duck Grade, 30" barrels choked Full & Full, 3" chambers, matte rib, pistol grip stock, and inspected in 1952; the gun was returned in February 1953 to adjust the action as the gun had been doubling. CONDITION: Very good as restored. Barrels with virtually all of their newer bluing, with evidence of rib relay and some handling marks. Action very good, thinning and mixing with patina at carry points, and gunmetal grey at tang. Stocks are very good as revarnished, checkering retraced, and pistol grip cap replaced, with some handlin gmarks and impressions. Barrel set "B" commensurate. Mechanically fine, bores are very clean with some light frosting. Ejectors are strong and in time. A classic.
