Brass bead front sight with flip-up copper-banded ivory moon sight on a sweated-on island with smooth ramp. Sweated-on ring with stud for sling loop. Express rear sight on sweated on island with 2 leaves, one standing and one folding, with central line. Left side of barrel, ahead of rear sight base with "ROBERT W. HART & SON INC NESCOPECK, PA .416 TAYLOR", right side with "MADE FOR THOAMS BLAND & SONS SR# B283144". Large ring Mauser style action with "WHITWORTH" on left side of ring, and Interarms information on left side of receiver, right side of ring with faint proofs and serial number repeated. "WHITWORTH" in circle on top of fore ring, obscured by 2-piece scope base. Bolt with four teardrops around a central floral on ball. Case colored bottom metal, double set triggers, and case colored reinforcement bolts. Nicely fiddled walnut stock with horn forearm cap, checkered in point pattern about the forearm, 2 panels of point pattern checkering about the pistol grip. Steel grip cap and with German silver oval and stud for sling swivels on toe line. Beaded cheekpiece and Decelerator recoil pad. CONDITION: Very good with some evidence of light field use. Barrel with virtually all of the bluing remaining, with some mild handling marks. Action commensurate. Stock excellent with some minor handling marks. Bottom metal silvering at edges, but retains the vast majority of the pleasing case colors. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling and some firing residue.
