Referred to as the "RSM" or Ruger Safari Magnum, Ruger introduced the .416 Rigby chambering for the M77 MKII in the '80s as Americans cultivated a growing interest in African big game hunting. Bead front sight on island ring sweated onto barrel, matted quarter rib fit with a three leaf express rear sight, two folding leaves and one standing, with an express line on standing leaf. Typical Ruger legends, including ".416 Rigby" designation at shank. Nicely straight grained walnut stock of a light honey coloring with contrasting forearm and pistol grip caps, sling studs at forearm and toe line, checkering in point pattern about the forearm and pistol grip wrist, and a Ruger branded hard rubber buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, showing some minor handling marks and superficial scuffs. Rear sight blades have been reblued over pitting. Stock very good to excellent with some handling marks and impressions, mostly under left side of receiver. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling and frosting.
