66.1 cm (approximately 26") nagasa of classic shinogi zukuri form, with a gently undulating gunome notare oil tempered temper line. Nakago with ha agari jiri, single mekugi-ana, two showa stamps, and signed "Noshu Seki Ju Amahide Saku Kore" (trans. Amahide of Seki City in Noshu Province made this). Most likely Fukumoto Amahide, who won third seat at the 1941 exhibition. Notably, Amahide had multiple people signing for him at the sword factory; see Slough, "Oshigata..." pgs. 24-26. Unusual, plain fuchi and kashira, possibly late war. Tsuba with chrysanthemums at corners and pierced. Leather covered saya with single plain hanger. CONDITIONTemper line is well defined, withsome scattered mossing, handling marks, and some spots and a minor repaired bend approximately 3/4" of the way up. Muonts with some rubs and handling marks, with repairs to tsuka-ito and 2 areas of separation at leather cover.
