Manufactured 1895. It is estimated that fewer than 1000 Model 1886s were offered in this caliber. This is a standard rifle with full round barrel, full length magazine, silver tip front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, and walnut stocks with rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Excellent. The case colors on frame, hammer & lever have silvered out to a nickel appearance. The bolt retains majority of bright blue with traces on loading gate. The barrel is a butter smooth patina with crisp barrel legends. The tube is a soft blue patina. Stocks are excellent, proud to metal with usual abrasions, small dings and some finish loss. The bore is strong but frosted. Very crisp example. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
