Manufactured circa 1940s, this rifle has been wonderfully upgraded. Finished in blue with a tapered round barrel with hooded ramped front sight and sporting rear, the breech engraved with a few foliate scrolls. Receiver has been tastefully engraved in the No. 3 factory style. The left side features a central vignette of a standing elk done in gold in a mountain landscape with a gold inlaid ring border flanked on each side by areas of foliate scroll and gold line borders. The right side likewise has a gold inlaid pronghorn vignette with similar scroll work and borders. Hammer and lever are also dressed up with gold details. Attractive custom checkered figured walnut forend and pistol grip stock with hard rubber WRACO grip cap and checkered steel butt plate. CONDITION: Very good as upgraded. Nearly all of the expertly reapplied blue is retained throughout. Stocks are very fine replacements with only light handling. Very fine, bright bore. Crisp mechanics. A very nice custom engraved Winchester. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
