These guns were manufactured by Pieper under a patent from Bergmann, who was focusing on the machine gun market, and licensed Pieper to make them. Only produced until 1914, when World War I caused production to cease until the Danes restarted production in the 20s. Classic configuration with correct legends for Pieper, the Brevete mark, Belgian proofs, and crown proofs, one on left side near cocking knob, other behind magazine well over a P. Earlier short grips with checkered circle at top and panel in center. Magazine correctly numbered to gun. Housed in an appropriate holster devoid of maker marks. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the majority of the original factory blue, approximately 70%, with scattered handling marks and thinning to sharp edges. Some fine oxidation mostly to barrel and right side of frame. Grips very good with some handling marks and thinning, with evidence of a revarnish at one point. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with well defined rifling and even soft frosting throughout. Holster very good with some rubs and crazing throughout, but supple and serviceable.
