Originally manufactured circa August 1941. Springfield barrel dated "9-43" with post war sights. Springfield internals including cut op rod. Receiver mounted M84 scope without data plate. Glass bedded and DOD cartouche marked walnut stock with "MRT / 11-58" stamped leather cheek piece. Complete with leather sling and M2 flash hider. CONDITION: Very good. Rifle retains nearly all its arsenal matte finishes showing only light high edge silvering. Wood is also very fine with some scattered handling marks and impressions. Very good, strong bore. ME of 2. TE of 4. Fine mechanics. Clear optics. Scope body and shade have some spots of toning. Cheek piece has a nice rich color. Some verdigris has developed on the eyelets. A very nice assembled M1D sniper.
