Manufactured in 1907. Standard rifle with full octagon barrel, full tube magazine, blue finish, walnut stock with rifle butt plate and matching forearm. The oddest item on this rifle is the non Winchester attached bolt hooded peep sight, one of which we have never seen before. It is not maker or patent marked. The rear sight slot is filled with the base of a cut off sight and the front sight is a replaced high profile brass bead . CONDITION: Excellent. The frame retains at least half of it's blue with grey patina on all edges and rubs. The barrel and tube retain 95% with high edge wear and minor handling. The two line Winchester barrel legend is crisp. The action is fine and the bore is well defined and clean. The bolt was cleaned of finish, probably when sight was added. The stocks are a touch shy of metal , a small chip on right tang, refinished with few impressions. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
