Manufactured in 1930, these rugged high power carbines were a favorite of Western law enforcement, including the Texas Rangers. Fitted with a tapered blued nickel steel barrel with tall blade front sight and unmarked receiver mounted carbine rear sight. Saddle ring receiver. Classic finger groove forend retained by a single barrel band. No hand guard present. Plain walnut stock with carbine trap butt plate, the trap door missing. CONDITION: Good. As with many of these carbines, this example shows heavy honest use. Significant portions of faded factory blue retained in the protected areas, the balance turned to a gray patina with areas of cleaned oxidation on the receiver. Stocks have numerous nicks and impressions throughout. Strong, well defined bore. Fine mechanics. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
