Manufactured in 1924. Production of the Model 55 began in 1924 as a light weight gap fill between the standard 24 " Model 1892 and the 20" carbine. It features a round barrel, button magazine, base front sight with dovetail , flat top sporting rear sight, blue finish, fluted walnut stock with steel butt plate and matching forearm CONDITION: Very good. The receiver is a soft grey metal patina with strong blue on bolt and loading gate. Barrel retains approximately 95% plus blue with some handling marks. Left side Winchester barrel legend is crisp. Stock is proud to metal, some scattered impressions and added finish. Forearm is in same condition and color tone. Action is fine. Bore is strong but lightly frosted. A great little light weight rifle. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
