Manufactured in 1950. Rifle finished in full expertly reapplied polish blue with tasteful aftermarket engraving. The barrel is mounted with a hooded ramped front sight and sporting rear, flourishes of foliate scroll engraving added to the muzzle and breech. Left side of the receiver features a central mountain vignette with a running buck in silver inlay, the vignette dressed on each side with folate scrolls. The right side of the receiver also has a nice foliate scroll, the vine pattern running down each side of the lever. The upper tang is engraved with the name "Gene Newton" in attractive script. Gloss finished walnut forend and pistol grip stock with checkered checkered steel butt plate. CONDITION: Near excellent as upgraded. Rifle retains nearly all of its professionally reapplied blue with a few minor marks. Stocks likewise have a coat of added finish with some light impressions. Very fine bore showing little use. Crisp mechanics. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection
