There were a total of 12 Kansas Colt Frontier Scouts issued from 1965-1971. They were offered individually and once a series was finished, Colt put all four of the series into a single complete cased set. The Fort series were issued from 1969-71. FORT SCOTT 1971, FORT RILEY 1970, FORT HAYS 1970 and FORT LARNED-1969. These legends are on left side of barrel. All have the Colt legends on top and right side of barrel with pony in circle on frame. Finishes are blue and nickel mixed and one cylinder is not fluted. Grips are faux ivory, faux pearl and black eagles. The special four gun wooden display features a special Kansas Series Forts on lid. CONDITION: All guns appear unfired, show near new, with light handling. The four gun sets are rather scarce. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
