Very attractive albeit refinished Winchester Model 1918 B.A.R. with crossed cannon and flaming bomb ordnance proofs on receiver and barrel respectively. Winchester marked barrel is dated “8-18” below flaming bomb proof. Two lustrous blue and 15 gray parkerized finish 20 round magazines are included with this lot, as well as a reproduction leather sling. This guns retains the correct WWI configuration flash hider as well as a checkered wood forend and buttstock. This gun also has a first style gas regulator, and "F A S" selector markings. Electronic NFA registry indicates “WINCHESTER” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is near excellent professional refinish with some slight handling marks and some dings visible under this finish, particularly on the left side of the receiver. Forend is somewhat loose and does not tighten. Wood has been lightly sanded and refinished with a shiny finish on the buttstock. Bore is moderately worn with some light pitting on the lands and in the grooves. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select-fire machine gun. A fine, “shooting grade” B.A.R. which still visually presents very well. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER.
