Very well-accessorized DLO registered sideplate Model 1919A4 Browning air-cooled machine gun. Currently setup in 8mm Mauser with a spacer at the front on the feedway. This lot iuncludes 25 cloth ”9-76” dated belts, two 8mm Mauser barrels total, two .30-06 barrels, and two .308 barrels. Other accessories include 2 spare shrouds, one original 1918 belt loading machine in original G.I. box, one carrying handle, one 1919A6 muzzle/flash hider, one 1919A6 steel shoulder stock with clamp, 1919A6 bipod assembly, a broken case extractor, hot barrel mitten, spare set of contemporary mounting bolts for tripod, and an Israeli type tripod with mounting pins. Also included is a British Bren gun canvas barrel carrier and a M2 tripod traverse and elevation mechanism. Gun is marked as “MAN’FD by DLO MFG., STAMFORD, CT” above “SAGANAW STEERING GEAR DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION” on right sideplate. Bolt is unmarked on top. Electronic NFA registry indicates “OEFINGER, DOUGLAS DBA DLO MFG” as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is near excellent as refinished upon remanufacture. Bore in gun shows evidence of being fired with corrosive ammunition, and is pitted and mostly dark, while the bores of the other barrels are all extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a fully automatic only machine gun. Belt loading machine near excellent. Belts and other spare parts also near excellent. The owner of this gun was forward-thinking and acquired the supporting equipment and accessories which benefit this gun. The 1919A4 Browning machine gun is a mainstay of the Class III shooting community with abundant spare parts available and convertible to multiple calibers as the owner wills, and has ammunition for. Pretty difficult to upgrade the condition of this specimen. Nice ensemble needing only some ammunition to be ready to take to the range for recreational shooting.
