Circa 1943. Half moon front sight with square notch flat top rear sight, left side of slide with two line, two block patent and address information, with intercepting pony. "P" proof ahead of rear sight, with two tone temper line still visible. Slide with matching serial number underneath the firing pin retaining plate. Barrel with "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left side of chamber, "P" proof on left lug, and "G" ahead of lug.Frame with typical Colt proofs and a W.B. in a lozenge for Broberg. Small parts comprise checkered slide release, thick tab safety, short checkered trigger, checkered magazine release, long A1 grip safety, arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop, and fibre grips with thick reinforcing rings. Magazine with "R" on baseplate lip, indicating manufacture by Risdon. In a canvas double magazine pouch ink stamped "MCCAULEY / 1925" on rear, "C530" on inside of flap, and "LED Inc / 5 18 / (illegible)"; magazines with another Risdon magazine, other with "L" for Little. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of a professionally executed reblue, with some softening to legends, a spot of pitting on left side of slide chin, and scattered superficial handling marks. Some inactive oxidation around rear sight. Mechanically fine, bore with softened rifling and some even frosting. Magazine pouch is good with some age related distress and discoloration.
