The C3 Chevrolet Corvette was built from 1968 through 1982 model years. Most engine and chassis components remained the same as the C2 but the body and interior of the car were totally new. The C3 is the third generation of Corvette while the 1969 through 1976 marked the second generation “Stingray”.The Corvette C3 was patterned after the Mako Shark II designed by Larry Shinoda under the direction of Bill Mitchell. In 1968, the car was available in either coupe or convertible models, but the coupes had removable roof panels (T-tops) and a removable rear window. An auxiliary hard top was available on the convertible. The chassis was carried over from the C2 models, retaining fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Three and four-speed transmissions were available as well as the optional Turbo-Hydramatic 3 speed automatic. The three-speed 327 cu in 300 hp powertrains were standard. The four-speed transmission was available in M20 wide ratio, M21 close ratio and M22 “Rock Crusher” heavy- duty gearbox. Engines ranged from the 350 cu in motor to the ZL1 aluminum block 427 cu in 430 hp powerplant.Presented is a 1969 Chevrolet Stingray Coupe. A frame on restoration, the Corvette presents itself as a very nice “driver quality” Corvette. With rebuilt “non-matching number” 350 cu in 350 hp engine and four-speed transmission, the red on black Corvette is a dream to drive. The 4-into-one chrome side pipes add to the sound and look of the stock appearance. Included with the car are a well-documented binder on restoration, receipts, owner’s manual, dealer brochure and assembly manual. The 1969 Corvette represents the last year of the big block, big horsepower era of C3 Stingrays.• 350/350 Crate Motor• 4-Speed Transmission• Header Side Pipes• Rally Wheels• All Service and Restoration Records
