After George Catlin and evidently contemporary with him, this lot consists of 42 sheets of un-watermarked drawing paper. These 19th century drawings of Native Americans in Native costume, many sheets of contemporary artifacts such as pipes, hatchets, staffs, et cetera, were accomplished by a skilled hand. Many of the drawings are captioned and some have extensive manuscript descriptions. These lend credence to the fact that the artist was familiar with Catlin's researches as well as with his drawings. We feel that many of the present drawings are after originals published in Catlin's "Letters and Notes on the Manners, Customs, and Conditions of the North American Indians" (1841). Sheets measure approximately 9 - 7/8" x 7 - 3/8", a few with light staining, some torn at the edges, generally in faded condition but remain good overall.

Condition: (Good).

Item Dimensions: Each: 10" x 7 - 1/2".
