The cap from the estate of John Wayne sold by Heritage Auctions on October 6-7, 2011 with lot tag still affixed and with Certificate of Authenticity. Standard U.S. Navy officer's cap with tan wool body, black mohair band with metal emblem affixed. The cloth covered visor displays gold bullion oak leaves and acorns, interior label from Wolf-Brown, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco. Worn in the film "In Harm's Way", Paramount, 1965, as Wayne portrayed Captain Rockwell Torrey. CONDITION: The front emblem shows some green verdigris and cap shows minor wear.
