Highly desirable 14" Parisian with bisque swivel head incised "D" in back, with pale blue glass eyes, aquiline nose, pierced earlobes, and slight smiling mouth, known as the "Smiling Bru". The head swivels on a separate bisque shoulder plate which is in turn mounted on a very well designed leather body with gusset joints are hips and knees, and wooden lower arms with separate articulation at the wrists. She has been elaborately costumed in a green and black silk brocade dress with velvet and braid trim with black bead collar, and panels of similar fabric at bottom of jacket. In addition to what is probably an original blond mohair wig over cork pate, she has very nice antique brown leather boots that button on each side, and a very nicely made black net, feather and cloth flower hat that is well matched to the costume. Overall very good condition.
