Probably French, measures 6-5/8" overall. The boxlock action is engraved on both sides with branches, florals and foliate motifs. The flintlock mechanism features tooled borders and a reinforced cock. The iron testing mechanism features a wheel engraved with decoration and numbers 1 through 10 to test the quality of powder when fired. The iron triggerguard bow is engraved with a star. The fine figured walnut bag grip features checkered panels on both sides and relief carved shells and acanthus leaves at the top on both sides. CONDITION: Very good retaining a dark grey and even patina on all iron components. Mechanism is crisp and all components function well. Grip excellent showing some light wear. A very nice powder tester with fine decoration. DMG
