This is a significant piece of early soda fountain memorabilia. An elaborate and ornate cast iron ice shaver by the D. L. Bates Brother's Company, dating to the 1880's. This particular example is complete with a hand crank and all of the internal mechanism required in order to shave ice. This is mounted on the original marble base. Outstanding piece of early soda fountain with great appeal and appearance.
