Green leather bound photograph album containing 92 carte de visite photographs of the 1860s to 1870s, including 17 Civil War soldiers and officers, 1 cadet, and 3 engravings of officers. Officer engravings include Gen. Rufus King and Connor and Fairchild of the 2nd Wisconsin. CDV photos include Gen. McClellan by Fredericks and several officers with Wisconsin backmarks, including a few identified as members of the 22nd Wisconsin, such as Surgeon Cansdell, Lt. C.E. Dudley, Col. Bloodgood, Capt. F. Mead, and Capt. C.E. Buell. Civilian images are clean bust or half views, with some interesting shots such as a Civil War period young boy dressed as a soldier and shouldering a toy musket, and a humorously titled image of a man showing off his dog as a "rat killing institution." CONDITION: Very good. Binding a tad loose, but all pages in place and intact. Minor scuffs. Latch pin missing.
EARLY PHOTO ALBUM OF CARTE DE VISITES.
