9" barrel, .70bore flintlockOffered is an early English single shot flintlock large caliber horse or belt pistol. Relatively unadorned with the exception of a crown proof on the lock. Metal is a smooth blend of gun metal and brown patina, simple walnut stock in very good condition with a stress crack on left side plate and grip, brass butt collar, trigger guard, forend, left side plate and escutcheon. Brass is a dark untouched mustard hue. Typical service type firearm that does not bear any frivolous ornamentation. Mid 18 century.
