The cap is a standard World War II period U.S. Army officers visor cap with OD wool body, the leather sweatband embossed "Fort Knox Exchange/ Military Store/ Fort Knox Ky.". A calling card slipped into the lining sleeve reads "General Omar Nelson Bradley". Cap is in very good condition showing minor service wear. Accompanying the cap is a note typed on Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Letterhead which measures 3-1/2" by 7-3/4", and reads: "7 May 1967, Dear Ken, A short note, to let you know I received your letter. It caught up with me while I was here in Europe. I will on my return to Washington, send you one of my service caps and a pair of my slip on rank marks. Please excuse the typing I don't do well. Sincerely Yours, (signed) Omar N Bradley, Omar N. Bradley Gen. Of The Army". Also included is a pair of Five Star General's slip-on shoulder strap insignia with gold embroidered American eagle and silver bullion Five Stars rank insignia. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
