Handel table lamp has reverse painted shade with orange, yellow and pink poppies against a greenish-blue floral background with a butterfly hovering over the poppies. The exterior of the shade is finished in chipped ice. Shade is signed on the interior "Handel 7816". Also artist signed twice, "Palme". The shade rests on a rare Handel waterbearer figural base, depicting a woman kneeling with a water jug on her shoulder. The base is complete with a four-socket cluster and heatcap with square cutouts. Base is finished in rich brown and signed on the side of the foot with impressed block letters "Handel". Beautiful example. Shade: 18" Dia. Base: 24" T.
