This military issue pistol was manufactured in 1917 and has survived in incredible all original condition with all the proper parts. The left side of the frame is stamped "United States Property" and has the Gilbert H. Stewart (G.H.S.) inspector stamp on left side of frame. Left side of slide has standing pony at rear, straight up, no circle. Right side of slide is stamped "Model 1911 U.S. Army". All parts are correct including long smooth trigger, smooth straight mainspring housing with loop, finely checkered slide stop, safety, and magazine release. Has the small front sight with U notch rear. Hammer is finely checkered, long wide spur variety. Barrel is stamped with the letters "P.H." This pistol retains approximately 90% of the original applied blue. Front grip strap is worn smooth and there is some minor freckling. The original diamond checkered walnut grips are near mint and have a small letter "f" carved into both bottom diamonds. Bore is excellent. Perfect action. Magazine is a pin two-tone with no stamps. Extremely fine World War I all original example.
