DSP. Sign is Maker Marked Veribrite Signs - Chicago. One of if not the most significant and important pieces of Gas & Oil Advertising ever produced. This incredible and iconic Circa 1929 Porcelain Service Station Sign from Musgo Gasoline is one of the finest known examples to ever be offered publicly and is one of very few known undamaged and complete double sided examples. This incredible piece features the iconic Musgo Gasoline Native American in Full Bonnet graphic on each side as well as unique orange, green, black and red Musgo Porcelain colors with the exclusive "Michigan's Mile Maker" trademark phrase. A simply incredible and historically significant piece of Gas & Oil advertising with all of the incredible folklore of the hobby attached attached. CONDITION: SIDE ONE: Side one is in outstanding condition throughout showing incredible color and gloss with clean lettering as well as a bright and bold Native American graphic. Side one shows excellent detail throughout the Native American graphic with excellent shelving between each color as well as excellent color & gloss. Side one shows one dime sized touchup to the left of the Native American's head as well as three pencil eraser sized touchups in the white around the outer border of the Native Americans head. Side one shows one pencil eraser sized touchup in the "S" of Gasoline as well as one pencil eraser sized touchup in the "N" of gasoline. As we moved to the outer field the Sign shows excellent condition Musgo "Michigan's Mile Maker" lettering showing very minimal surface scratch as well as one small pencil eraser size touchup in the "G" of Musgo and one small factory flaw pit in the "M" of Musgo. The mounting holes of side one are very clean showing only light wear and the outer edge is outstanding showing only a couple of very light nicks. Overall side one displays outstanding and all of the touchup work is very minimal, well matched and easily removed if desired, Grade 8.75+. SIDE TWO: Side two is also in outstanding condition showing brilliant color and gloss throughout the field with an excellent condition Native American graphic. Side two shows one pencil eraser size touchup to the lower left below the Native American's face as well as one small touchup in the white Porcelain above the Native American's Bonnet. Side two shows one small touchup in the "L" of Gasoline as well as some light dimples and factory imperfections under the Musgo lettering. Side two shows one small touch up in the orange between the U of Musgo as well as one size dime sized touchup in the "S" of Musgo. Side two shows one minimal touchup in the black band under the "G" of Musgo and the "Michigan's Mile Maker" lettering is extremely clear showing only light surface wear. The outer edge is outstanding showing only minimal wear at the mounting holes and very light nicks along the outer white border and overall side two displays just as incredible as side one, Grade 8.75+. An absolutely wonderful and brilliant example of this iconic Holy Grail piece from Musgo Gasoline and a very important piece of American Service Station Advertising.
