DSP. An absolutely outstanding condition example of this exceedingly rare and highly sought after Circa 1930's Porcelain Service Station Sign from Houston Gasoline, a product of Houston Oil Company, Houston, Texas. Sign shows a large and outstanding graphic of the General Sam Houston. Sign features bold script in the outer field with excellent shelving between each color and is one of the finest examples we have ever sold. CONDITION: Side one is in simply outstanding condition showing incredible color and gloss throughout the field with immaculate Sam Houston graphic. Side one shows some minimal areas of light surface wear as well as a couple of very minimal areas of light surface scratch but overall absolutely outstanding. Side one shows minimal chipping at the top two mounting holes as well as some very light outer edge wear, most of which is unnoticeable when the Sign is mounted in the ring. Overall side one displays absolutely incredible, Grade 9.25+. Side two is also in outstanding condition throughout the field showing wonderful color and gloss as well as a bright and clean graphic. Side two shows two very small nicks in the porcelain in the outer field outer lower field as well as an area of scratching at the horses neck, most of which is unnoticeable in the green color. Side two shows some minor scratching in the Gasoline lower lettering but overall displays extremely clean. Side two shows light chipping at the top two mounting holes as well as some very minor wear along the outer edge but overall an absolutely incredible example, Grade 9.0. Sign is mounted in a newly made metal band ring that has been professionally painted in black and displays the sign incredibly well. An outstandingly clean piece of important and scarce Service Station Advertising from Houston Gasoline.
