Lot consists of 12 Japanese World War II “last ditch” bayonets with interesting handle, scabbard, and frog variations. Bayonets (A) through (H) are all manufactured by Toyoda Jidoshoki Seisakusho under Nagoya supervision. (A) Green painted wood scabbard with metal bands and leather frog. (B) Green painted wood scabbard with twine bands and leather frog. (C) Green painted wood scabbard with twine bands and leather frog. (D) Green painted wood scabbard with twine bands. (E) Green painted wood scabbard with twine bands. (F) Green painted wood scabbard with twine bands. (G) Green painted wood scabbard with twine bands. (H) Wood scabbard with twine bands. (I) Manufactured by Jinsen Arsenal with flat tip wood scabbard, twine bands, and canvas frog. (J) Manufactured by Jinsen Arsenal with flat tip wood scabbard, twine bands, and leather frog. Two lug holes on crossguard. (K) Manufactured by Jinsen Arsenal with flat tip green painted wood scabbard and twine bands. (L) Manufactured by National Denki under Kokura supervision with flat tip green painted wood scabbard and twine bands. Most pommels are numbered. CONDITION: Good-very good. All bayonets exhibit typical marks from field and handling wear. Some blades exhibit marks or have been cleaned while others retain great amounts of their original finish. Handles and frogs exhibit wear from use and handling. Some scabbards exhibit scattered blemishes.
