Lot contains: A) U.S. Army Model 1889 private purchase campaign hat, tan fur felt with snowflake vents on each side and triple row of stitching around the brim. Interior with an unmarked leather sweatband. Displayed on the hat is an original Civil War period cavalry hat cord. Appears to be unissued. B) Black, Indian Wars and Spanish American War period fur felt officer's campaign hat, unvented, raw edge, black/gold officer's hat cord. The interior leather sweatband embossed "The Charles William Stores". Appears to be unused. C) World War I Officer's campaign hat with heavy gold/black cords and leather sweatband. D) Black fur felt hat with pinwheel ventilators, not original to this hat, bound edge, missing its outer band. Front displays a false-embroidered crossed saber insignia with the letter "B" below. Interior with a heavily worn leather sweatband. CONDITION: Excellent unless otherwise noted. From the Ray Bentley collection.
