Lot consists of six Revolutionary War pension related documents. (A) Treasury Dept. 1828 letter returning discharge to “Gideon Graves, former Sergeant of Artillery. Graves was from Massachusetts, claimed service at Bunker Hill and elsewhere, discharged from Seward’s Company 3rd Continental Artillery.1p. 8 x 10 in. CONDITION: Folds, otherwise excellent. (B) 2p. July 1819 “Certificate & Descriptive List for Discharge” of Peter Sweeny, Matross in Capt. Bell’s company, with his final pay receipt. (C) 2p. July 1819 discharge for Ebenzer Smith, Regt. of Light Artillery, with his final pay receipt. CONDITION: Good, slight fading to ink two short tears to receipt affecting signature. (D) Period 3p. copies of affidavits for pension of Willim Burrows of Killingly, 3rd CT Regiment, wounded in the knee December 1782, resulting in amputation. Period copies CT supreme court finding, Washington-signed discharge as an invalid as registered in the regimental books, affidavit by Webb as former commander, former regimental surgeon, testimony by Eneas Munson, a fellow 3rd CT veteran. CONDITION: Very Good. (E) 1838 deposition by Seth Blair for 14 months service in Massachusetts regiments commanded by Dikes, Crafts, and Keyes. 1p. CONDITION: Very Good. (F) 1p. summary of pension records of Henry Rood, Silliman’s CT Regiment, WIA in the thigh at White Plains, with details of wound. Disabled and placed on half-pay. Pensioned until his death in 1827. CONDITION: Very Good. All about 8 - 1/2 x 13 in.
