Winchester Model 1886 "Deluxe" lever action rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1887. Blued Winchester full octagon barrel with pedestal bead front sight and flip graduated rear sight. Case hardened action with plain trigger. Walnut figured grain checkered pistol grip stock with diamond ebony grip cap inlay (missing) with steel crescent buttplate. Walnut figured forearm with triangular pattern checkering. CONDITION: 40% fading barrel blue with balance having a silvery patina with some freckling. Action worn to a silvery patina with some discoloration. Wood has traces of high gloss finish with usage marks and dings. Pitted bore with good mechanics. Would make an excellent restoration project. CORRECTION: The stock, when removed, is numbered 338, which matches the number on the inner right side of the lower tang.
