In its factory correct Savannah Beige, this 45,000 mile 1968 Volkswagen Beetle is a piece of history. In the first year available, this car includes VW’s Manu-Matic transmission, an early clutchless two-speed innovation. Also known as “auto-stick,” these specially-designed transmissions were advanced alternatives to Volkswagen’s standard drivetrains, allowing new drivers to enjoy the classic design of one of history’s most attainable and timeless automobiles. As the included window sticker suggests, the tranny was the example’s most expensive option. In 1968, the feature was advertised on its rear badging above the engine compartment. This car includes the optional radio, as well as heater and defroster. With incredible charm, this German coupe boasts its original black interior, the perfect complement to its repainted Volkswagen hue. Incredibly preserved, this unique car in the inaugural year of its state of the art option drives, sounds, and looks just as it did on the line back in 1968.Fast Bullet Points:- Rare first-year option for Volkswagen Manu-Matic/auto-stick option- 45,000 miles- Savannah Beige exterior, black interior- Well-optioned Beetle- Well preserved interior, believed to be original
