Robert Debow (20th Century). This painstaking handcrafted sculpture is not a molded piece, but the entire statue is hand fit out of cast steel pieces, then shaped , formed and welded into this modernistic sculpture of an early 19th century mountain man. This sculpture shows a mountain man snow shoeing over the snow with his rifle resting on his shoulder. The man's face is rugged and ice crazed to give him an expression of a very weary man on a long journey for shelter or home. The right calf of the sculpture is marked with the artists' signature "Bob Debow 1/1". The steel casting is mounted on a wooded base and affixed to the front is a steel plaque marked "Mountain Man/Winter 1830". Weighing in at around 40 pounds, this sculpture is in good condition. Since this sculpture took months if not years to create, it is the only one done by this artist.

Item Dimensions: 35 - 1/2" x 10 - 1/2" x 12 - 1/2".
