Circa 1885. From the collection of Rita Ford Music Boxes , this Charles Palliard 6 tune cylinder music box was made in Switzerland and plays 6 tunes. This is a lever wind 13” cylinder music box playing on a single comb. It features a mandolin expressive arrangement with 126 teeth on the comb. It is contained in a rosewood case with matching floral and tulipwood inlays to both the lid and case front. The detached tune card is present. In their unrestored form, components from this music box were used in the filming of the TV series "The Blacklist,” episode 17. This piece recently underwent a complete restoration to the case and movement.
