The 1955 MG TF was launched in October of 1953. A face lifted TD model fitted with TD Mark II engine, the TF had headlights fared into the front fenders, a sloping radiator grill concealing a separate radiator and a pressurized cooling system. Engine compression was raised to 8.1:1 and extra large valves with stronger springs and larger carburetors increased horsepower to 57.5 at 5500 RPM. In mid 1954 engine size was increased to 1466 cc’s and compression raised to 8.3:1 producing 63 hp at 5,000 RPM. The MG would be now known as a TF 1500. A total of 9,602 TF’s were built.Offered is this lovingly cared for 1955 MG TF 1500 representing the beginning of the sports car era in America.
