The Volvo P1800 was designed by Pelle Petterson, who worked for the Italian design Studio Pietro Frua. Introduced to the public in January 1960 at the Brussels Auto Show, Volvo turned to the English company Jensen Motors to create the unibody shells and assemble the cars at West Bronwhich, England. The engine was the B18 (B for the Swedish word Benzine and 18 for 1800 cc). With dual carburetors, the engine produced 100 hp. The B18 motor was matched with the new M40 manual gearbox. Overdrive was available effectively giving the 1800 Series a fifth gear.In 1963 production was moved from Jensen due to quality control issues and relocated in Gothenburg, Sweden. Thus became the S in model P1800S. In 1969 the B18 engine was replaced with the two-liter B20B that produced 118 hp. In 1970 changes came with the B20E Bosch Fuel injection and revised camshaft producing 130 hp. Top speed was 118 mph with a 0-60 time of 9.5 seconds. 1970 would also see the introduction of 4 wheel disc brakes. Presented is a nut and bolt restoration 1969 P1800S. Beautifully finished in mirror like dark green with new parchment leather interior, the P1800S is flawless in every way. With B20B engine producing 118 hp, this speed sports coupe is as nice as you will find anywhere. This is truly a rare opportunity to own an Italian designed, Swedish engineered sports car.- Frame off restoration- B20B engine- Leather interior- Last of the non fuel injected engines
