29-1/2" barrels in .36 bore-percussion. Offered is an extremely fine all original over under, double hammer, single trigger (mule ear) rifle. Barrels are part octagon to round with a long tang rear sporting sight and a dovetail front. In addition, there is an added long range tang target sight (both sight screws have been replaced). Has a lollipop sight stem but no aperture. Three brass retaining thimbles on both sides retain both original rods. Brass trigger guard. Has a beautiful striped Pennsylvania style butt stock with brass buttplate and toe. Both sides are set with a silver star and both sides have the Pennsylvania rifle style cheek carving. Right lock plate is in the white. Both checkered mule ear hammers intact. Stock is near mint and retains a beautiful rich patina. With the exception of a couple replaced screws and the missing aperture, this is a beautiful all original rifle rarely seen with this type of design.
FINE EARLY SIDE HAMMER O/U RIFLE.
