.17-223 caliber with a 20-1/4" barrel. Produced by the Winslow Arms of Camden, South Carolina, this is the deluxe crown grade bolt action rifle which was the fourth highest grade available at the time. This company began very limited production of high quality bolt action rifles in 1963. This was purely a custom offering that utilized a Sako action and a custom Wildcat cartridge based on the .17 Remington round, and utilizing a .223 cartridge case, which made for a barn-burner small bore cartridge that was known for it's extreme accuracy. The gun remains in near new condition with many special features. The barrel retains virtually all of the deluxe high gloss, high polish factory blue finish. Deluxe walnut stock features hand carved basket weave and oak leaf deeply chiseled design on pistol grip and forend. Has a deep and high roll-over Monte Carlo stock, a rakish pistol grip that resembles a deer's hoof with rosewood contrasting tip and cap. The left side of stock has two decorative contrasting wood inlays. Right side of stock has a black composite inlay background with an overlayed carved panther in a white ivory type material, with the identical multi-wood inlays on right side. Has a black rubber recoil pad, jeweled bolt, white diamond set into grip cap and sports a Leupold 2x7 scope. Checkered bolt knob. Barrel was made without provision for any sights. The ultimate varmint rifle. The standard crown grade in the 35th blue book is listed at $3,000, which does not take into account the custom Wildcat offering.
