32" barrel, .42bore-percussionThe heavy full octagon barrel is stamped Wesson Hartford CT Cast Steel and bordered by two eagles and has 5/8 turned round muzzle which would allow false muzzle attachment. Has a sporting rear sight with a dove tail front and miss the blade. It is a single shot percussion, has engraved brass frame, flip up lollipop rear sight, manufactured with no forend wood with a 9.5” rod retaining sleeve, has double set triggers, has engraved brass trigger guard. The stock is beautiful fiery grained walnut with no cracks or chips, with a beautiful engraved nickel plated brass patch box with an eagle head as well as some engraving on heel of butt plate and toe plate. Has a strong clean bore, wooden rod is a replacement. The barrel is a pleasing smooth mix of blue and brown soft patina. These rifles are rarely seen and seldom in fine all around condition.
