.22 rimfire with a 24" barrel. Manufactured in 1894. Offered is a very good example of the popular small frame Colt Lightning magazine rifle. Standard features include 24” full octagon barrel, half magazine, wind-drift front and rear sights, walnut stocks and Colt logo gutta percha buttplate. All metal surfaces are basically brown-grey patina. Forearm is very good with a ½” hairline crack on left side. Stock has been refinished, is a bit shy to metal, has a chip at the left front tang and a chip and repair at toe. Has an ill-fitting buttplate. Bore has visible rifling but coarse. Working order. With some professional attention to the stock, this could be a very nice example.
