Barrel length is 35 1/4 inches. Bore is .58. This rifle began life as a standard model 1863 US contract musket. Manufactured by Parker Snow in Meridian Connecticut. Has the typical Miller conversion as produced by the Meridian Arms Company. The conversion consisted of a groove and stock to accept cartridge, the conversion block shortening the barrel. Standard three leaf Springfield rear sight. Three barrel bands. Sling swivels. Metal rod. Barrel bands and butt plate have US stamps. All metal is a smooth in the white appearance. Never cleaned with aging. Stock is very good with some finish added. No visible cracks other than some chipping near breech. Excellent example of early conversion.
