Caliber is .69 bore-percussion, barrel length is 42". The 1842 Percussion musket was the first percussion regulation musket and the last smooth bore made in the .69 caliber. Produced at the Harpers Ferry Armory. All standard features; the lock is stamped Harpers Ferry 1848 with the eagle, all metal surfaces are a gun metal freckled brown patina. The front sight has been cut away from the front band, original rod, sling swivels, barrel has the VP stamp, left side of stock has a visible cartouche. Stock is in excellent all original condition with no cracks, very few minor chips and bumps. It has the original nipple and comes with the original bayonet.
